The big news about Christkindlmarkt this year is “A Cherry Pie Christmas,” the new Hallmark-type movie that was filmed in Door County last March.

- Our Christkindlmarkt property plays a very big role in this new film.
- “A Cherry Pie Christmas” has arrived on several free streaming platforms, including TubiTV, RokuTV, PlutoTV, Vizio, XumoTV and other holiday and romance-themed free, ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels such as Amazon’s Always Christmas channel.
- Christkindlmarkt is one of the high-profile stops on Destination Door County’s Movie Trail, an app-based way to tour the 15 sites pictured in this new film.
- Check out the Movie Photo Booth located next to the Door County Authors Bookshop entrance, featuring life-size cut-outs of the movie’s stars, Katie Leclerc and Ryan Carnes.
- On Saturday, Dec. 13, during our third weekend, the film’s stars and director (John Stimpson) will make an appearance at Christkindlmarkt in the early afternoon to sign posters as a fundraiser for the Sister Bay Historical Society.
- We’ve turned Blacksmith Shop building into The Cherry Pie Shop, which will be selling our very own Cherry Pie in a Cup. It’s also where the film’s stars will sign the above-mentioned posters on Dec. 13.
