About Christkindlmarkt

Sister Bay Historical Society’s 3rd Annual Door County Christkindlmarkt opens Friday, November 24, 2023! Come shop talented local artisans and vendors and enjoy hot drinks and excellent food.

Christmas markets are held all over the world, including Chicago and Europe, and as far away as Singapore. The Door County Christmas Market in Sister Bay debuted in 2021 at our historical site, Corner of the Past Museum, located at Highway 57 & Fieldcrest Rd., and is held on three consecutive weekends (Nov. 24-26, Dec. 1-3 and Dec. 8-10).

Our beautiful tree-filled grounds and historic buildings will be filled with local artists and craftspeople selling their handmade art, crafts, clothing, home goods, and Christmas ornaments under a myriad of twinkling lights. Imagine the air filled with the fragrance of sizzling sausage, pastries and hot spiced Glühwein (children can enjoy hot apple cider and hot chocolate).

On Saturdays from 12-4 pm, Santa Claus will be waiting in the cozy Anderson House to hear children’s Christmas wishes while alpacas are grazing nearby under the lit Christmas trees and decorations.

Live and recorded Christmas music fills the air as you stroll through the booths or warm yourself by the outdoor fire pit. This year’s live music features the Gibraltar Schools choir and band on Saturdays, plus DJ David Watkins spinning vintage Christmas vinyl on Fridays and Saturdays.

There’s no better way to begin the Christmas holidays than to plan a get-away-weekend or create new family Christmas traditions as you gather in the warm, friendly atmosphere of Christkindlmarkt in beautiful Door County.
