Sister Bay Historical Society’s 4th Annual Door County Christkindlmarkt opens Friday, November 29, 2024! Come shop talented local artisans and vendors and enjoy hot drinks and delicious food.
While Christmas markets originated in the German-speaking part of the world many centuries ago, they are now held all over the world. The Sister Bay Historical Society’s Door County Christmas Market debuted in 2021 at our historical site, the Corner of the Past Museum, located at Highway 57 & Fieldcrest Road, and is held on three consecutive weekends (November 29 – December 1, December 6 – 8, and December 13 – 15).
Our beautiful tree-covered grounds and historic buildings will be filled with local artists and craftspeople selling their handmade art, crafts, clothing, home goods, and Christmas ornaments under a myriad of twinkling lights while the fragrance of sizzling sausages and hot spiced Glühwein (children can enjoy hot apple cider and hot chocolate) fills the air.
Santa Claus will be waiting in the cozy Anderson House every Saturday from 12 – 5 pm (and the first Friday, November 29!) to hear children’s Christmas wishes while alpacas graze nearby under lit Christmas trees and decorations. Our Kids Craft Corner (in the Koessl Food Barn) is also open every Saturday afternoon where kids can decorate an ornament or write a letter to Santa – courtesy of the Sister Bay Historical Society.
Live and recorded Christmas music fills the air as you stroll through the booths or warm yourself by the outdoor fire pit. This year’s live music will be located in the Music & Beer Tent and features the Gibraltar Schools choir and band, along with Colin & Friends. You may also come upon some of our strolling carolers from Shepherd of the Bay or the Community Church of Fish Creek. Don’t miss the Christkind too – the Christkindlmarkt’s namesake!
There’s no better way to begin the Christmas holidays than to plan a get-away-weekend or create new family Christmas traditions as you gather in the warm, friendly atmosphere of Christkindlmarkt in beautiful Door County.
Important Notes:
- No Entry Fee
- This is an Outdoor Event with Heated Spaces
