Corner of the Past’s Anderson House (the beautiful 1875 home on the corner of the property) is your home for all things Christkindlmarkt! You’ll find our Bake Shoppe full of homemade goodies, all of our official merchandise, and sometimes…Santa & Mrs. Claus. New this year, we’re offering the perfect stocking stuffers: we’ve curated a selection of vintage-style toys and games for this year’s event. Many are “Made in the USA,” and all will provide hours of old-fashioned fun. From kazoos to tiddly winks, paper dolls to Silly Putty, and log building sets to tooth fairy pillows, there’s something for all of the children on your list. Best of all, everything is priced at $15 or less.

What would a Christkindlmarkt be without ornaments? We’ve got plenty for you to choose from in the Anderson House. Our 2024 “Ich Liebe Door County” porcelain gingerbread heart ornament is exclusively ours and a limited edition. You’ll find an amazing selection of handmade “ugly Christmas sweater” ornaments that were a HUGE success at our 2022 market. This year, we’ll also have a selection of new ornaments to help capture special Door County memories, from felted ice cream cones and lighthouses, to blown glass birds and campers, each is sure to bring a piece of Door County to your Christmas tree. And finally, as always, we’ll have a selection of gently used holiday items for sale at discount prices.

The Bake Shoppe

Our Anderson House kitchen, The Bake Shoppe, is also the place to pick up some delicious holiday goodies. Every weekend our amazing Sister Bay Historical Society volunteer elves create an array of homemade cookies and baked goods to choose from, in addition to the adorable sugar cookies and gingerbread hearts created by Julie Schmidt of Sweet and Simple Cookies. And, be sure to grab a bag or two of our exclusive chocolate-covered caramel “Alpaca Poop.”
